Who we are

We are a team of 3 coaches with universitary backgrounds that have been practicing the sport for over a decade each, and have been coaching for the past 5 years, helping our clients reach their goals all over the world.

How we work

The world of calisthenics is full of disinformation; finding good information is difficult. Since Calisthenics is a young and complex sport, a lot of trial and error is involved, which leads to wrong assumptions and many injuries.

At Sthenics, we implement the scientific principles of resistence training and apply them to calisthenics.

To the theoretical knowledge we add the practical experience gained by training hundreds of people over the years, creating an evidence-based approach.

Our training plans are tailored to the individual taking into account goals, needs and physiology.

Our team

Denis

Denis has a master’s degree in pharmaceutical studies and has been practicing calisthenics for almost 10 years and has been coaching for 5. Most of the knowledge he acquired over that time period came from his self-driven fascination with strength sports and his interest in applying it to the complex sport of calisthenics. Having worked in cancer-research for two years, he transferred his enjoyment for evidence based science to the sports world. He won a few national championships in skill-based calisthenics competitions and has given workshops all over Germany, Austria and Italy. Denis, together with Nik Tibusek, started the biggest calisthenics Podcast in the German-speaking world and now hosts the Sthenics Podcast.

Leo

Leo has had a strong passion for sports since childhood. After playing tennis competitively for 10 years, he began practicing calisthenics in 2013. Driven by curiosity and the desire to improve his performance, over the years he delved into the science of training and nutrition. For a few years he helped grow one of the first gyms entirely dedicated to calisthenics in Italy. He currently has over 5 years of coaching experience, both in person and online. Outside of calisthenics, Leo holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering and is finishing his Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, both at Politecnico di Milano.

David

David is a certified physiotherapist with years of experience in treating orthopedic patients and athletes who not only trains Sthenics athletes as a coach, but also helps them with treating their injuries. Combining his universitary background, knowledge of anatomy, sports science, bio mechanics and his passion for calisthenics, David strives to implement the latest scientific research into both his calisthenics coaching practice and his physiotherapy.
David began training strength sports at the young age of 15, and started exploring different ways of strength training, which led to his discovering calisthenics. Fascinated by the diversity and community of the sport, David fell in love with training calisthenics and treating athletes ever since; he became the latest member of the Sthenics team in 2020.
